Mural intervention for @pdvstreetart

The mural is a dedication to a figure of the Basque folk costume, the “Karkarot”. This mask is used during Carnival and Shrove Tuesday, where the Kaskarot dance inside people’s homes, bringing with them the good news of the arrival of spring. For years this figure was intended only for men, however, in recent years, women have begun to change the tradition and make it their own by bringing their sensitivity and their experiences.

I was struck by this gesture of rebellion against traditions because I think it is the spirit that reflects me, breaking the mold and traditions to bring innovation.

I thank the organizers, the festival team, Alban for his great availability and for having involved me and allowed me to be fascinated by the culture of the Basque people. I also thank the restaurant @xurasko

Thanks to the models who shared their world and stories with me @menditxuu @magoyheneche
