Mural intervention for the project “Fenêtre sur le paysage”, led by the association @derrierelehublot
The young girl listens to the stories told by the elders, these stories pass through a shell, as if by magic. This is a moment of play and nostalgie Villages where young people no longer live, or there are fewer and fewer of them. One day I woke up, and I discovered that from this mountain village, there is a path that leads to the sea. Here it is full of stories to listen to, full of new languages and different cultures.
The young girl listens, and to be able to hear the sound of the sea from here, you need silence, and concentration, like discovering this mural: it is a painting that whispers her presence. So to see it (the mural), the viewer will have to stop, pause their thoughts, be silent, to be able to see this work appear, as if in a miracle. The shell represents, for me, empathy, the art of listening, and for this project, of course, a reference to Santiago De Compostela, a path which I find quite intimate, an opportunity to listen to oneself and discover oneself even.
The girl, of course, represents youth, but also something else linked to the feminine part, to the spirit of Nature, which, in this context, is very present. Then it represents our generation. The hand is clearly a reference to wisdom, and the history of the village, like a transmission, or a passage of generations.
